Reason 71: It May Not Be Legal That Much Longer

One of the points I tirelessly drive home here is that the state’s largest concern is the state. It might tell us that it’s interested in the welfare of its subjects, but that’s a lie. The state is not for you nor is it on your side, especially when it comes to educating your children.

So keep that in mind as you read this from Breitbart:

NUMBER OF HOMESCHOOLED CHILDREN SOARS IN AMERICA: UP 61.8% OVER 10 YEARS

Newly released data from the U.S. Department of Education shows that between 2003-2012, the number of American children between ages 5 to 17 who are homeschooled has risen 61.8 percent, and that the percentage homeschooled in that age range has increased from 2.2 to 3.4 percent.

Of course a 50% increase in a small number is still a small number. But you can bet next year’s tax bill that the state is taking note. It loses in two ways when you homeschool.

First, and most importantly, the NEA, the union thug arm in the state school, is all about getting teachers hired so that they can garnish their wages for campaign donations to the DNC, and hundreds of thousands of students being taught at home equals loss of revenue for the NEA and their elitist friends in government bureaucracies. But worse than that, parents who homeschool, even liberal parents who homeschool, don’t generally train their children up to be state-worshiping serfs.

I predict that we will increasingly see the state charging homeschoolers of abuse, religious brainwashing, training in homophobia and bigotry, and educational neglect. It will sound pretty much like this elitist rag. And then homeschooling will be outlawed, for your own good of course. Will it happen soon? I don’t know. But I can’t imagine Big Government allowing its serfs to train future serfs to not be serfs, can you?
