Wisdom is different than intelligence and knowledge. You can know a lot and not be wise. You can be smart and not be wise. And wisdom is more precious than both. So I have no article today. I have something much better: a Bible verse:
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. (Prov 9:10)
It’s another verse that describes us in this day:
Claiming to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)
How many Christians are all about having their children educated by an institution wherein the mention of Jehovah God by the institution is illegal, much less teaching the fear of God? To do such a thing means that the Bible has been rejected, or that it is not taken seriously. How wise is it to send your children for an education in an institution that does all the things I’ve spoken of here? How wise is it to have your child educated in an institution that could be the poster boy for what follows in Romans 1:22?
Parents will answer for their children. But… if those parents don’t fear the one to whom they’ll give that ultimate account, then I guess it really isn’t a big deal after all. But wisdom dictates otherwise.
